Ambi. Historical analysis reveals that the shorter's loved this stock. Two real major announcements a year after which you could short. Recently this is changing a little with the some more frequent surprise announcements from the board interrupting the fall prices of stock. The success of various health products involving the sandalwood oils is starting and only beginning to change the shorter's opportunity window and confidence.
However, just look at the share price fall from late March to mid June they made a quid or two. Thankfully the two June announcements interrupted the fall.
Where does this leave us. I suspect with the recent gains that they'll stay way and have probably been acquiring stock for the next short period. Will they try it again? Oh yes its a cash cow. When? It will begin a few days after the ex div date in September/ October falling to lows between December and February.
What to do? I have done this a couple of time already. Sell a portion of your holdings early in the shorter's season and buy back late in the shorter's season. I haven't always picked the peak times to sell and buy back but my shareholding is constantly been increasing.
Can the shorter's be stopped? Yes, eventually, but it must come from the board. Positive announcements interrupting the declining prices of the shares at the mid point on their shorting season will kick them where it hurts, right in the cash pocket. Maybe this will require holding back positive news until the right time. So be it.
They need to be wounded enough to go looking for another cash cow.
