    Hi BT,

I think they might got their costings wrong...the ppl that have produced that video did a good job but I think they might have gotten confused/ not aware that there is a very large price difference for different types of G.
There has been a significant price correction, especially this year and IMO will not ease up for a while.

    Graphite Price 2018.JPG
Benchmark Minerals Intelligence has reported that natural flake graphite prices for all sizes fractions at 95 percent carbon purity and greater are nearing all-time highs. According to Roskill Information Services, a leading UK-based market and metals research firm, demand for natural graphite in LiB is expected to grow at 28% per year until 2027. Current global graphite anode consumption is estimated to be between 90,000 to 110,000 tonnes per year and predicted to reach 800,000 tonnes per year by 2027.

So let's say even US$3,500.- / ton and that is for uncoated...coated is a lot more expensive and coated SG is used to make the anodes in the Battery...so US$3,500.- / ton
= US$3.50/kg...this could easily double for coated...but still...even at a high G price the cost of the raw materials for the whole battery is not that much...but you have to allow for manufacturing/testing/warranties/labour...etc...so the comments by some analysts that raw material prices might hold back the uptake of EV's is a bit misleading ie
    even at $10k/ton = the price of the G (57kg) for a Model3 is only $570.-

Increasing production capacity will be the key to lowering $/kwh = making EV's and Storage cheaper

IMO that figure for 2027 (800ktpa) will blow out significantly, especially if LiB's will establish themselves as the main choice for home storage which I believe will happen thanks to the mass production capacity that is under construction worldwide...there are other technologies out there but from a price point of view combined with the constantly improving reliability...LiB's will be hard to beat in a couple of years time, therefore if you combine the potential demand from EV's and Storage...good natural flake Graphite deposits should prove a very good investment.

    All IMO
