The History : I still own a unit in Hobart ( its vacant - never been rented ) but am a permanent resident in Botswana . Other aspects of the Telstra page are working ie , I can access my account and see what's what etc . Just been one of the more harrowing online experiences of my internet life actually and I don't see why I must make a mobile call to a call centre to justify why I wish to cancel ! Any advice truly appreciated and thanks in advance !

The easiest way is to go to their physical store in shopping centre and make a scene. And refuse to accept that they have nothing to do with problems you want solved.. Second best is to actually speak with someone and threaten to call the ombudsmen. Online: you can sign up without problems. But with problem solving you often end up in endless loop. From Botswana, good luck! Give ombudsmen a call.
