As I see it, the issue would be whether it is necessary to change the architecture to incorporate the JAST rules.
EP3324343 claims a method, which I assume, defines the JAST rules.
EP3324344 claims the corresponding architecture.
In my layman's understanding, the method of Claim 1 of '4343 comprises:
comparing each of a plurality of stored values (neurons) with an input value;
where there is sufficient congruence (the first threshold) between a stored value and the input value, amending the stored value to be equivalent to the input value; and
generating an output signal indicating neurons having a value exceeding a second threshold.

It may be possible to apply the JAST rules to PvdM's original architecture.
