There's a sense in which you're correct. Once an IC is available, or imminent, most companies will make the development tools and documentation really easy to acquire so that as many potential customers as possible can easily evaluate whether the product is right for their design. So at this point it isn't about wasting time. It's about protecting IP by only executing NDAs with parties who have strong incentives to uphold the NDA (i.e., legit corporations). The Akida would certainly fall under the NDA stage, and I'm not surprised if my inquiry doesn't rise to the level of NDA-worthy (though it would be nice to at least get a response to that effect). But I also think they they could do much, much more to provide content which enables developers to make sense of Akida and how it would fit into a larger design, so that potential customers can see the value of even getting to the point of executing an NDA and investigating the product in more detail.

Regardless, the silence isn't my primary concern. My primary concern is the lack of explanation for the numbers being advertised for the chip. I was hoping that if I did get access to the IDE then I might be able to find an answer.
