SL1 have just started mining a DSO zinc-lead deposit in Nigeria with only about $4 million in pre-production start up capital.
The deposit has an indicated resource of
122,300t at 19.2% Zn for 23,481t Zn plus 863t (Zn in Pb resource) = 24,344t contained Zn
and
10,400t at 27.2% Pb for 2,828t Pb plus 2,812t (Pb in Zn resource) = 5,640t contained Pb
they intend to make three products by crushing and screening and manual sorting
Sphalerite: 50% Zn (approximately 31% of the ore)
Galena: 60% Pb (approximately 3% of the ore)
and a mixed product 30% Zn & 4% Pb (8% of the ore)
Based on project factors (processing, transport costs etc) they estimated economic cut-off grades of 5.8% for Zn, 7.6% For Pb and 10% for the mixed ore. Esh
