That's true but look at Translink in SF. Full scale rollout is at least 3 years away and it integrates more than 24 seperate transit agencies, all with differing fare structures and policies. In terms of complexity it dwarfs Sydney.
This is nothing out of the ordinary. If standardising fare schemes is the only problem?? Yeah right!
