Twenty-three people, including 17 students, have tested positive to tuberculosis exposure at a Sydney school, reports say.
ABC Radio reported that the 17 students and six staff members were in contact with a casual teacher working at the Hassall Grove Primary School, which is located in Sydney's west.
Dr Vicki Sheppard of the Sydney West Area Health Service told ABC Radio that none of them are contagious or showing symptoms.
"All those ones that have a positive skin test, we then investigate further and implement appropriate management to stop it progressing to active tuberculosis," she told ABC Radio.
The NSW Department of Education said a potential outbreak had been kept in control by good management.
"We're very confident that the process that we've undertaken with health has resulted in excellent management and the community is being well informed," spokeswoman Lindsay Wasson told ABC Radio.
"We remain confident we have this matter well and truly under control."
