To be honest, I have always been pretty ignorant when it came to the rules governing AMIT.
I have only now gone back over all my managed funds to find a lot have not elected to apply AMIT at this stage.
The example you gave really hits home the inequity in the traditional model.
I also agree that all investment models have their downfalls...
