If you do a lot of CFD trading, your CFD trading is a "business". At the end of the year, add up all your profit and loss transactions together into one total amount. If the total is a profit, place the total amount at "Other business income – manually calculated" in your tax return. If the total is a loss, place the total amount at "Purchases and other costs" in your tax return.
If your CFD trading is irregular, your CFD trading is a "profit making scheme". At the end of the year, add up all your profit and loss transactions together into one total amount. If the total is a profit, place the total amount at "Other income - Any other income" in your tax return. If the total is a loss, place the total amount at "Other deductions" in your tax return.
