Hey guys, I think that we have to be real careful with what kind of information we are spreading here among ourselves - I feel that a lot of information is getting misinterpreted or made-up and put on HC as a fact. This is not helping anyone with collecting information and ideas about a company like AAC, which in my opinion is the purpose of HC. Unless you are sure of something, Some examples:
* On Landline on February 5th, Kerry Lonergan in his Market Segment stated in regards to Joe Lewis & Travistock: "Now the Ag rumor-mill, which can sometimes can spin faster than a champion rodeo bull, has 2018 marked down as the year Joe Lewis will make a decision on his investment in AACO. Will he sell-up or will he launch a take-over for the remaining shares?" These 2 sentences is all that was mentioned on Landline.
To then start a HotCopper Thread stating: "In the Landline news a few minutes ago it was reported that Tavistock is deciding whether to take over or sell AAC." is tendentious to say the least and is misinforming those who did not watch Landline for themselves.
* Same with "This company's accounting have big problem." in @stevenlala 's post. But I guess the level of English displayed in this post and the lack of follow-up makes it a bit easier for most of us that this is just a plain BS post.
* Another statement I noticed: "Of course it's marginal land". Absolutely not a blanket-statement that can be made. Yes, some stations owned by AACo are regarded as marginal land, but not everything. Goonoo station for example is mostly prime CQ alluvial soil with large irrigation licenses that can grow a lot of feed corn or barley; this place would give most cotton growers a boner! Same with Wylahra at Surat and Glentana at Springsure- definitely not marginal cattle country by any stretch. I have visited these farms many times and can say from experience that they are well looked after and in decent rainfall areas. Furthermore - the other, more marginal, stations are in a widespread geographical area, so where some might lack rainfall this season, other stations are in areas that have had a lot of rain already....
All I'm trying to point out here, to those that come looking on this forum for information, to not just believe what is being said by everyone. I see some brilliant posts here but, working in Ag myself, also see a lot of information that is false or misconstrued... This is not investment advice and please DYOR as always.
