Sort of. To see anything like old valuations we would need new data yes. But short covering is a little different to people going long, IMO. There doesn't necessarily need to be upside to cover shorts. They're paying interest on the margin so they'll cover when there's no more money to be made. If we hit a convincing support in this range they should start to lose interest and unwind. Of course with so many of them, it might be more jagged than I make it sound.
Plus today was a good start, we're up almost 4% already.
Not to sound like some kind of know it all, at the end of the day I'm just another punter giving his opinion.
