I now try to reduce my intake of cured meat (including farmed salmon), and feedlot finished protein (beef, pork, salmon) and foods with high levels of preservatives. It's not that hard to cook interesting meals using whole foods.
Imo, pasture feed beef, lamb (which logically is mostly pasture fed), wild caught identifiable Australian fish and organic chicken should be good starters, combined with recipes that include a good load of veges.
