To a small degree you are right. However it only happens when the market sets the price and I admit we are part of the market. Take today; I started off just a watching bystander. Some wanted to sell at 14c and 14.5c for TAS and there were buyers for EDE at 19.5c. It was opportunity knocks. It was buyers and sellers that set the price and they would not have been all relative value traders.
One day.............. ??? That is the $64 question. Until then ??????? until then its day by day and take it as it comes.
Trades on CHI-X muddy the waters too. Half my trades were evidently made by Westpac through them today and I don't see their quotes in real time.
