    I am concerned that the usage of handheld xrf is being used on diamond core. It work brilliantly on semi-homogenised RC samples, however to extrapolate from point sampling using a Niton or similar portable device on diamond core is shaky.

    It will certainly be interesting to see how this enriched itabirite assays relative to the hand held field tests.

    And it certainly is not true that all West African high grade Fe deposits have a magical cap of DSO on them! Shallow hard capped with Si, Al, P, Mn and LOI's do not make for great ores. They are good for blending as lump to the higher grade fines that are used as sinter from West Africa, if needed. So there is a limited market for these styles of deposits, and just because SDL and AKI have fired, doesn't mean this will, they had good drilling results.

    The drilling is far from spectacular. And the rainy season is about to start, which is going to slow everything down. And the malaria will kick in harder too.
