just a bit of financial engineering to make use of a lazy balance sheet is my guess.
The (up to 14%) share buyback can be financed by cash and debt facilities. A good way to increase eps without actually have to achieve revenue growth or cost reductions. Even the debt funded buy back would have very little impact on the bottom line given low interest rates in the U.S.
