Exploration Geologist

Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST) is a dynamic and expanding Australian gold producer with a strong emphasis on high-grade, low-cost mines with robust margins and a forecast FY17 production of 485,000-515,000oz per annum.  The Company operates three concentrated centres in Western Australia: Jundee, Kalgoorlie (including Kundana [the East Kundana Joint Venture – Northern Star's interest: 51%] and Kanowna Belle Gold Mines) and Paulsens; and has a 25% interest in the Central Tanami Project in the Northern Territory, with work currently progressing to bring this fourth concentrated centre into production.  The Company has a strong exploration focus to extend mine life at all operations and create a pipeline of future projects.

The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an Exploration Geologist at our Central Tanami Project in the Northern Territory. This is a challenging and exciting role which allows you to utilise your previous skills and experience whilst building relationships within all levels of the business.

This role is FIFO ex Perth on a 16 day on, 12 days off roster pattern. Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, the primary responsibility of the role is to carry out safe, effective and efficient exploration programs to discover or upgrade mineral resources on projects suitable to support the Operations Life of Mine plans. Other responsibilities include;

• Complete geological data collection as directed. This includes but is not limited to core logging, chip logging and soil sampling.
• All drilling and sampling information to be validated and stored in a timely manner in the relevant master database.
• All 2D data to be updated or added to NSR GIS system.
• All documents relating to a project to be filed according to site standards.

Skills & Requirements

• A degree in Geology, preferably with Honours, from a recognised tertiary institution.
• 2+ years' experience in the mining industry.
• Current "C" Class Western Australian Manual Drivers Licence.
