I was actually pleased that Sandfire have bid for just 1 particular asset of Talismans. Because the value placed on that highlights the dilemma that some smaller miners / explorers often face. That is that their share price can fail to reflect what can be underlying value well in excess of their market capitalisation.
As the article states the $70M price being talked about for Talisman's 30% of the JV is $22M above the whole market cap of the company.
Kerry Harmanis is a very successful guy who developed & made a fortune from the cosmos nickel deposit. What is now happening with the Springfield JV ( Harmanis butting heads with Simich ) is what could potentially play out with Peel in the future. Peels register is dominated by a bunch of over achievers. These A types ( for want of a better description ) don't like compromising. They all eventually want to get their own way. IMO that could well work out in our favour ( retail holders that is ) Just as it now is for Talisman shareholders.
