Yes, agree it is crazy. CST was building a nice pile of cash and should have been in a position to become a predator itself.
Though I can understand that it is simpler and less risky to go the other way and be "the acquired", it is still a shame to see them go after all the risks and capital injections that biotechs (in general) incur in getting to this point.
When someone first pointed CST out to me as a "no-brainer", it was 2005 and the share price was about $3... I didn't buy, as thought it was over-valued. But staunch supporters since then have held until now for minimal returns. To sell those shareholders out for $3.55 rather than fight to grow the business seems very sad.
