Development, Validation and Registration of PON testing for latent TB would be many years down the track. Would certainly need to approach the same specificity and accuracy as the QFT lab tests.
Local company Tyrian are also working on PON tests for respiratory diseases including a validated one for active TB.
No doubt PON testing will happen but like most diagnostic tests which have become "portable" reliance on lab tests remains as the main tool of doctors because third party interpretation and validation is from a medico-legal sense a safer choice for them.
