If you treat this as a property development in a period of soaring house prices, whilst other property developers have gone ahead and subdivided lots, and built and sold houses, our operational team has:
1. Taken 16 months to find financing and still not achieved it
2. In the last 8 months, "explored" 5 potential areas, when we have a massive acreage ready to go (WSGP/ Atlas).
3. On the first development (WSGP - 30 wells), they had teething issues (glorified word for "stuffed something up").
We can't jist sit here whilst the incumbent team gets remunerated, and worse, refuses to keep us abreast.
Stand down - give us an operator that will efficiently and successfully expedite the monetisation strategy in like with other property developers in this area.
In exploring the takeover avenue further, we will need to be clear about the following in the Information Memorandum that I will compile.
1. Objectives for shareholders
2. Synergies
Feel free to post your thoughts/additions
on these:
Objectives
1. Efficiently and successfully expedite the monetisation strategy (of the 2P 120mmboe) to take advantage of current oil and gas prices
2. Deliver returns to shareholders in a timely manner (whilst still retaining potential upside - so inclusion of a scrip offer)
Synergies
1. Corporate costs
2. Processing plant / lower capex requirement on infrastructure
3. Gas (for those companies with supply contracts)
4. Neighboring acreage
5. Experienced operator that understands how to deliver and maximise efficiency of well performance
Need to work on this synergy piece - if anyone has further info on how this would relate to specific suitors, please share.
