I totally agree with your post, if we do get a major downturn then we are going to have a big problem with this debt.
Goldms ucks has shown its ugly face when the GFC happened and had many miners by their bal ls and made the most out of it.
PNA was a prime example next to OZL.
Yesterday I read that India expects their economy to grow more then 9% next year, these kind of statements give me the feeling that we can handle those 4 years to get rid of this debt.
What we can hope for is that a large % of the Lundin shareholders choose to take shares instead of cash to gain from the upside of strong metal prices.
Time will tell, but yes the experience of the GFC is never out of ones mind,especially when you see the name Goldmans ucks and $2.4billion debt.
I think we must also not forget that this strategie is also very much a stratagie by Equinox to stay independent and not being gobbled up along the way.
It would be good to hear what other posters think.
