PE has already missed out on an opportunity here, no one is going to accept a takeover offer at $3.50 when this is now on an uptrend and could go back up to $4 or $4.50. They could have offered $3 when the share price was $2.40, but that's their loss and we are all profiting now instead as a result of it.
IMO there could be a short-term pullback to around $3.20 though, so a word of caution to buyers, DYOR.
