Neither Turkey not Greece can afford it any more.  Their economies are in as much, if not worse trouble than the Iranian economy.

Turkey is militarily powerful but in a conflict with Greece over the Aegean islands NATO would absolutely stand behind Greece.

Erdogan likes playing dangerous games.  In his shoes no sane leader would be playing Trump and  Putin off against each other in a game of constant back flips.  The chances of such a game backfiring at some point is  close to certain.

One thing I do know about Trump is that you don't s**t in his face on a social visit and expect to get away with it.  Erdogan did just that on his infamous Washington visit and then there were the Ottoman Slap cartoons. This was absolute stupidity.  Putin is a more skilful man than Trump  but he also has an extreme ego and a memory.  Is Turkey now buying US missiles instead of the S400s?   Who knows but they can't afford either and the IMF won't lend them money to wage war on the Kurds either.

I can't predict anything with Erdogan but I don't see him staging a crisis with Greece just yet.  Then again the man believes his own propaganda and will only receive "good news" from subordinates.
