"Does anyone have other thoughts on the Sydney trial and roll out and the nature of the receivable associated with it?"

The Tcard project in Sydney provides many lessons for ERG, the Gov and the travelling public

First and foremost it is true to assert that ERG had not done its homework on public transport in Sydney.

The fare structure and the incompatibility of the existing Cubic network were not fully taken into account.
What was important was that ERG win the bid and beat off Cubic. This has been a costly exercise for Cubic. Their corporate profile has taken a beating. It has been costly for ERG in that time and investment has been wasted.
During this time ERG has restructured and is tightening its financial and organisational structure, It has lost or let go key personnel.
Worldwide ERG is streched . Projects in deployment in
    (1) SF....translink....full service in AC transit and CGT
    (2) Seattle ....Orca...results of a Pilot study expected in 14 days
    (3) Stockholm
    (4) Gothenburg
    (5) Lazio....and

    Sydney

That is a lot to digest.

Amazingly ERG is proceeding with them all.

Make no mistake one day the Tcard will be a feature of Syney public transit as is the Octopus in HK and Ezlink in Singapore.

The whole area of Scards is a complex one.

The good news for ERG , if that can be said, is that no ERG competitor is setting a blazing trail.

The much vaunted Keane Kamco consortium in Melbourne is under a vast cloud.
