DNA Star Vegas in Poipet is pretty much just a proxy on the Thai economy, not really what's going on with Cambodia becoming a Chinese client state. Yeah, I've read about Sihanoukville, worse than Poipet apparently and pretty much just a Chinese city now.
I'm a shareholder of DNA, safe to say it is not going well and you probably have seen. It's a turn around story now at the Star Vegas business they bought because the Thai partners they purchased the business from, screwed them when it was time to change over management. Presumably the former vendors wanted to continue the lucrative management deal and DNA said no. Naturally, it's not all that either as the other property has not been performing as well.
It's a good lesson on investing in less developed places. One thing I would say is, DNA has their debt under control and other than legal troubles looks to be financially sustainable. However, SVH looks like current shareholder's days may be numbered under that mountain of bond debt and the slow ramp up of the Tiger Palace. What do you think?
