I could give you my long list of disasters also.. But we don't have enough time here...
I was lucky that a real life business emergency forced me to liquidate my entire portfolio during a slump, just before the big crash of 2008.. The real business went very well so i could re-enter the market at the bottom 2010/11... I also cashed up a fair bit before this downturn really set in... For another business opportunity... So sometimes life looks after us.. Or sometimes gifts come badly wrapped.
Add ADO to that list that will make it to the top ten....
