    steers are a product bred to sell , faced with having to offload either steers or heifers I think the better longterm strategy to retain future breeders makes great sense. Not being privy to the carrying capacity of their flooded country I cannot say but the revenue from that steer sale will be needed.If they are restocking there dry stations then selling the steers & moving females to the wetter places seems logical. I myself recently sold steers to a feedlot & replaces them with young well bred angus heifers that I will feed till things improve . I would rather have young breeders in the paddock that steers when the season breaks.
