Sumitomo would be well aware of what the WA government are trying to achieve.
If you read the link, you will see that Energy Made Clean were instrumental in demonstrating how well suited WA is for stand alone power systems.
The acquisition of Infinite Energy by Sumitomo indicates to me that they like and want to take part in shaping the state’s power supply.
Up until recently, Energy Made Clean would have been part of their plans. Sadly, it appears that is no longer possible, unless of course Sumitomo was to buy out the EMC subsidiary from CCE, (now there’s a thought)?
Either way, Sumitomo will be in a position to deploy stand alone systems in WA and you would have to think VRFB technology would be part of it.
If VRFB technology becomes mainstream, electrolyte will be in high demand (through the roof I am thinking).
