    Maxter,

It depends where you draw the figures from. But in any event, they are not on course to meet their carbon emissions targets. Moreover, due to the cheap cost of carbon in Europe after the GFC, lignite has been the cheapest form of power generation in Germany and they have been exporting excess power generation from lignite to other countries in Europe. Further, the German nuclear power generation that is due to be removed from the grid is unlikely to be fully supplemented in the short term with renewables.

Merkel's coal commission only yesterday "proposed" a move away from lignite by 2038. But that is only a proposal.

The fact of the matter is the German economy relies on cheap fuel. Lignite is filthy stuff. A great deal of hypocrisy has taken place.

Regarding mining investment. My piece of advice is sell the story, buy the fact. TNG is a great story, but the risk is the transition from explorer/developer to producer. I've been burnt before. After GBG I vowed never to be caught out again. Putting aside the compelling ethical story of renewable energy power generation and story, there is currently a huge amount of risk in TNG.

No more comments from me on TNG. I will watch with interest.
