One point to add to my previous comments is that many strategies can be in drawdown for weeks or even months. This is why a lot of the discussion on these threads has centered around building a portfolio of strategies to cover a range of market conditions - because no single strategy will perform consistently well in every market phase (reversal, trend, consolidation, ranging, etc).
