AWE reports that the Dunsborough-2 well started drilling at 0900 hours (WA time) on March
21, 2008. At 0600 hours today, the rig was recovering the core at a measured depth of 1,540
metres.
The well has intersected the primary target Dongara Sandstone high to prognosis where
strong oil shows were encountered. A 24 metre core was cut in the reservoir sequence.
Following completion of coring activities, the well will be drilled to a planned total depth of
approximately 1,680 metres where interpretation of logs will help define the forward
programme for the well.
Dunsborough-2 is an appraisal well located approximately 2 kilometres south of the
Dunsborough-1 discovery. The well is the final well of the three well programme in WA 286 P.
