Namoi cotton made a media release on 22 April, an hour later a replacement media release.

Whats really interesting is the paragraph which they omitted from the second version:

"Namoi Cotton is unable at this time to provide guidance on its financial performance for the 2008/2009 financial year, as under current AIFRS accounting standards the companys earnings include unrealised gains and losses from changes in fair value of its current and forward marketing books".

Thats rather alarming. That sounds like something Pasminco or Gwalia might have said. Why would you say this if it wasn't true? And why would you put out a media release, and then issue an amended one an hour later with this sentence omitted ?? Didn't they give this any thought before they issued it ?
