The infrastructure & CO2 deficit you are proposing goes against the very reason you want an electric car.
EVEN at 100% co2 abolition in this country will NOT have any meaningful impact on the planet, yet you want to bankrupt the economy (just get the Govt to pay - is such a green mantra).
You are just pushing the cost to those that can't afford it.
The good thing about electric cars is they can & will charge you per KM going forward to use the road net work.
What you save on fuel with only provide another tax route for the government. If you think you are going to get a free ride & save money you are sorely mistaken. One way or another they are going to get ya.
Be careful for what you wish.
have a look at how many Tesla’s are being used by police forces in the US, they represent fuel and servicing savings of around $20k per year . Stands to reason that 2000 moving parts compared to 20 will have a big impact.
