About 20% of that 1545 PJ is jet fuel and electricity, the remaining 80% Diesel and petrol. So about 1200PJ, or 120% of the amount of electricity generated. Yet sierra would have you believe that we can push that extra 120% through the grid to recharge EVs without it collapsing. Sorry sierra, you’re dreamin’.
cars don’t fill up with fuel at set times, they fill up when it’s needed. Again we get back to getting a big chunk of cars off the road. Lots of people don’t fill up their tanks when getting fuel, they just get enough for a few days or even less. The same will happen with ev’s. A 15 minute fast charge will get you a few days driving on average. A lot of this means adjusting of habits also, and not moaning about pee stops etc. Our habits and attitudes have got us into this predicament, some need adjusting .
