I think you’ll find your numbers for Norway are wrong. They may be the figures for new registrations, but not for cars on the road. And they are heavily subsidised with no VAT, no import tax, no tolls, no rego, no ferry fees, free charging, and are only emission free because Norway is almost totally hydroelectric.
A 55mpg car creates less emissions than an electric car powered by coal.
You say I should get with the evolution, but your solution to gridlock is just less of the same, with car-pooling or taxation. That’s not evolution! That’s stagnation. Evolution is not commuting, working from home (no city jobs are productive) is the change we need to engineer. Of course, for that we’d need a good communication system, which the government is doing its damndest to prevent.....
Cut back on infrastructure spending? No govt is EVER going to be elected on that promise! Why do you think the nbn cost seven times what it should have, for a crap product? Employment.
