No, no innovation there. Good use of existing technology, but a Model S is AU$159,000, a Model 3 (not available in Oz) is US$44,000 so no comparison to a Holden.
Of course Nikola is smiling in his grave. Tesla is making excellent use of his 1888 patent .... but he might be slightly disappointed that no-one’s bettered it yet!
Barg’s right though, confirming my point - innovation in marketing. Must have helped keep retail costs down significantly, although service suffers if you want spare parts.
