In total, the Company hires in excess of 7,000 items of plant through a distribution system along the Eastern coastal fringe of Sydney and Illawarra.
Company History Incorporated in NSW on 28/09/1988 as National Hire Pty Ltd, the company operated the business as trustee of the DWB Trust. The business effectively commenced in 1988 as a result of the merger of three separate hire businesses: St George Rentals, Abbott Hire and the Stephen Donnelley Hire Group. The company achieved ASX listing 05/06/1997. Currently, NHR is a major service provider to the industrial maintenance, construction, commercial, government, general contracting and home handyman markets. The company hires out in excess of 7,000 items of plant throughout NSW including general equipment (trucks, electrical tools, ladders), Access Equipment (scissor and boom lifts) and site equipment (portable toilets). In December 97 the company announced that it had exercised it's option to acquire Atomic Hire Centres for a consideration of $2.65mil. This acquisition will help the company to build on its business as being a major supplier to the building and construction industry. In June 1999, the company acquired the business of Cordukes Hire from Cordukes Limited. In June 99, the company annouced that it had acqired the equipment hire business of listed construction company Cordukes Ltd.
