The idea behind the sharemarket is that the risk taken in an investment will be offset by an increase in the value of the money invested. If the value decreases over time then really it is not an investment, it is a charity. I can think of far more worthy charity's than directors of small cap companys.
Some naive posters would have you believe that small companys give you an unbiased picture of the companys performance, warts and all. It is widely accepted however that the large majority of smallcap companys paint a rosy picture highlighting achievements and give very little insight into failures. I dont every recall Management apologising for missing an opportunity, missinfg a deadline/timeframe, making a bad decision, diluting the asset base per share or wasting shareholder capital in any of their announcements. Small caps are not subjected to the wider scrutiny as large cap companys, where it is common to see sell reccommendations aimed at the wider community.
Voting rarely goes against a management, major holders will normally align themselves with a company. At the end of the day 95% of investors will rely on the company "propoganda" as it is the only information they have access to, most will not vote regardless becouse they have no idea of whether or not a resolution is in their favour or not..
Yes I am a minority shareholder but fact is my best interests are likely aligned to 95% of holders. Voting in small caps will almost always reflect the directors/major shareholders wishes. I suspect our political system would be vastly different if the number of votes you had was directly attributed to your wealth!!!
Feel free to add facts and figures to justify your opinion..."$20bo for ash creek" not fully funded when we have just sold Grieve oil for sub $3 a barrel fully funded, your right best for you to leave out facts and figures, bulldust will fool 90% of the people 90% of the time. Reminds of a conversation recently "... but Grieve is worth 90cps" to which I said why the %$#@%^ selling a large chunk of the company at a value of 19c.
By all means come up and say hello at the AGM. Are you going or will you really on those pretty glossy AGM presentations..
