Not sure there is anywhere where Ii have written anything about moving to the cloud vs being in their own datacenters. They have no datacenters! The software is either on-premise with their customer or on the AWS cloud. Their sales model focusses on the cloud, but is yet to be optimised for the cloud, that is in their plans with the C4 rollout.
You are right about the reasons people move to a different software provider.
