You need a car that no more than 8yrs old to drive for them, so if your car is already 5yrs old, you need a new one in 3yrs, but on this blog some guy said uber give you a smart phone for free, but the catch is its only got the uber app on there, and you cant use it for anything else because its all blocked, and you have to pay uber $10/wk to rent the phone.

So its not all its cracked up to be, some guy on this blog even wrote uber will be gone one day.

Thanks Pete for the info and opinions which are hard to find in general news and especially as there's so much hype surrounding this new startup. There's another big crack appearing too. Yesterday in California it was ruled that Uber driver is employee, not contractor - read link below. This could have major negative monetary implications for Uber worldwide.
