The most recent drill program at Walford Crk came up with 45m @ 0.32% Co and 30m @ .44% Co, these are some of the best Co grades I have seen here in Oz, so I agree with you that Cobalt will play a significant role in the development of a mine at Walford Crk. It is not just a Copper mine at all. But I am expecting to see demand for copper increase significantly over next few years, so will be cheering for more high grade Cu at Walford Crk
Given the length of open strike and what has been delivered so fat we could be looking at large tonnage of Co.
Current Co price is US$34.75/lb or US$75000/ton, the kicker is that Co supply is already approaching shortfall and even with planned mines to come there will be a growing shortfall. The shortfall in supply and the EV revolution will have the market very focussed on Co stocks going forward, we are only at the very beginning of what will most likely play out over the next 2 decades, we are definitely looking at the biggest disruptive event in transport in 100 years.
This will no doubt assist AML to raise capital needed to build their mine and plant, the Copper looks great, but the Co will give AML a huge point of difference in the capital raising stakes, and then as you say there is the Zn, Pb and Ag.
see chart below, also, realize that all projections that have been made regarding the uptake of EV's thus far have been to the low side of actual take up.
