It’s a classic study in economies of scale. Replacing thousands of kilometres of overhead high voltage network with new, efficient technology.
Traditional poles and wires has served the state well, but as the diversity of technologies becomes readily available we have reached a watershed moment to enhance the value of the network for all our customers.
When you consider that 53% of our overhead distribution network serves 3% of our customers, it’s easy to see how this approach can not only drive down the cost to supply electricity but drive our ambition to deliver.

I think multi 10’s if not hundreds of millions of dollars in network upgrades will be spread around different companies such as CCE in Western Australia over many years but if CCE don’t come out with an announcement that says we have secured our largest contract win ever I will eat my hat.
These press releases by Western Power alone appear to be a no brainer for many large contract wins over the short & long term for CCE.
