Saw the same Stage 4 at Costco Moorabbin during our last shopping trip for the first time. Interesting they have no limits on BUBs and other IF makes but have prominent bold logos on the price ticket on A2 Stage 4 that the store will only allow a maximum of 2 cans per membership card per day.
If if you have not shopped at Costco you are only allowed in if you present your card and you need to present it again before you scan your items on checkout. You are allowed 2 cards per membership but they have to reside at the same address so if a couple went in the maximum amount of tins of A2M S4 you could purchase is 4 tins per day. Did not ask Costco management but its possible they might only allow 2 tins per household even if that household has two cards issued from the same address.
It is the slowest moving product of all the stages so its a good idea to have it on its own at Costco to keep stock levels balanced. Costco would fall over themselves to get the other stages as well but with a 2 can limit that cant be bypassed like it can at the big supermarkets and Chemists with no memberships cards its not going to be flying off the shelves like the fresh A2 milk does in-store.
I believe once the new plant comes online and up to speed the next big announcement will be a new agreement for Coscto to stock Stages 1,2 & 3 as well if supply is guaranteed to be able to keep the shelves full with enough stock to keep up with a new 4 or 8 or no tin limit. All the hullabaloo with Australian infant formula shortages is furphy. There are only 3 makes of IF that are in demand while other brands sit with full shelves of older slow moving stock. A2M is the most in demand IF by a country mile as attested by all the purple tins IF lids that the Daigou are seen running in out of of stores with on TV and in print media.
Unless A2m can prove Costco is not going to have empty shelves they would not take it on or be interested in setting aside floor space if A2M cant keep up supply to not run out by the end of each day.
It will be one of many announcements which will push the SP to another new high when a new Costco Stage 1.2.3 IF supply agreement is announced in my opinion.
