Well, actually I think I was fairly clear that I was not sure about it but that I think the announcements support the hypothesis.

The spud date is when drilling the surface hole commences. To date, the announcements have only indicated that the rig is in place and that operations have begun, and that they will commence drilling the surface hole before Christmas, and expect to complete the surface hole and run casing before Christmas.

The announcements have not indicated on what date they will commence drilling the surface hole, but presumably, since they state the surface hole will be complete and casing run by Christmas, this will be some time in the next seven or so days.

I would be prepared to put my money on the spud actually occurring after rig is released from Ungani-North and soon-to-expire options have been exercised by Buru employees.

Of course, it is starting to look like we will never know the timing of these events because there has been no mention of when the rig will be released from Ungani North, and there will be no further reports on that hole, nor has there been an expected date given for Cyrene to commence drilling.
