Lol..... I asked Paypal why they aren't using something similar, and the response I got was about Paypal currently not being in the loop between the buyer and seller, and by the sounds of it not wanting to get into that loop, and also not wanting problems with non payment from the buyer.
First point fair enough, they would probably have to get into that loop to be the " merchant " in this instance, unless Splitit treated each seller as a merchant, and just went with the Mirror payment scheme - Nil financing.
Second point is obviously a non issue for splitit so who knows.... maybe
