I understand MRD wanted to complete all 3 holes in an effort to hit something special and / or better define the targets before they announced anything to the market but when they saw the share price drop so dramatically after the 1st hole failure they should have identified that somehow the information may have leaked out and they should have either immediately informed the market about the 1st hole result or requested a trading halt pending the completion of all 3 holes to keep it a level playing field.
Also, based on what I have seen with other junior explorers Samson is not always that accurate from a directional perspective when the geology is complex and a down hole EM survey of Samson holes is used to get a much better reading of where the target really is if the Samson defined target is missed. Why drill 3 Samson holes at once rather than do one hole and if it did not hit pay dirt do an immediate DHEM to hone in on the target and then redrill this hole rather than move onto 2 other Samson targets. If the 1st hole was a duster and there was a poor or no DHEM reading they could have re-evaluated the accuracy of their Samson modelling before they spent any more money on the 2 additional holes.
