John is right in relation to CGT legislation. This legislation came out in 85. Holding period rules / 45 day rules are however in a entirly seperate section of the tax act and require LIFO to be used. This is legislation (in a different part of the tax act). This came out in 1991.So in otherwards the calculation for cgt and franking credits are carried out seperately - one fifo and one lifo. This is a real trap.
