When Michelangelo was commisioned to sculpt a statue of David, the benefactor was getting impatient with he amount of time Michaelangelo was taking. He decided to go Michealangelo’s studio to see, in person, the exact progress.
When confronted with the untouched slab of marble, the benefactor screamed “where is my David?”.
Michealangelo responded calmly that David was still inside the slab and then assured the benefactor that the masterpiece would emerge and his patience would be rewarded.
