There's more risk that Tony Abbott will be returned as PM than there is that TSE will not have its DIBP contract renewed. They have been notified as preferred and the offshore detention program remains in place. There is no plausible alternative scenario. Yes we shouldn't be counting our chickens but the risk is so low that the better near term management focus would be on reducing costs and improving the under-performing sectors of the business.

The Greens attack will not get legs and will be an embarrassment. Where do you stop? What about boycotting Decmil, which has done about $400m worth of work on Manus over the last couple of years building allegedly cramped, low standard extensions to the Manus camps?

The Greens need to read beyond page 3 of the Telegraph.

The allegations about physical abuse are alarming but there continues to be no finding against TSE and imagine what it would be like if the centres were run by another business without a demonstrated track record in this kind of work? The worst the Greens seems to be able to find is a determination that TSE "isn't properly accountable" to the DIBP? Sounds like DIBP's problem and one I'm sure TSE and DIBP will work hard to fix. Bringing in another contractor at this stage without any track record of accountability whatsoever would be a ridiculous, unnecessary increase in risk for everyone concerned, including the detainees.

TSE does however need to do more on the public relations side generally, including improving the image of its Chairman and CEO so that they are more corporate.
